PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent electric-molecule-separation type water purification apparatus capable of most efficiently, stably, safely, and inexpensively purifying any sewage and waste water and also to provide alkaline wash water produced by the apparatus which contains no chemicals at all. SOLUTION: The apparatus can effectively and stably remove a pollutant by providing electrode plates at such a position and in such a manner that the purification efficiency of the water to be treated attains an optimum, and, on the other hand, the apparatus can provide a large amount of the alkaline wash water at a low cost whose raw material is only water.
