PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the contact pressure of an end part sealing member against a developer carrying roller so as to obtain an appropriate value. SOLUTION: Regarding the developing apparatus provided with a housing with an opening part, for storing the developer, the developer carrying roller arranged facing the opening part, for carrying the developer, and the end part sealing member arranged between the housing and the developer carrying roller, for preventing the leakage of the developer from the end part of the developer carrying roller, the part facing the end part sealing member of the housing is provided with a notched part.
