<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing method capable of achieving a high density by increasing the number of multivalues to be recorded, and a multilayer phase change recording medium used for the same. <P>SOLUTION: This recording/reproducing method records information in a multilayer phase change recording medium having at least two recording layers by changing a mark length and a recording layer for recording according to multivalue information during recording, and simultaneously reproduce information from at least two recording layers during reproduction. Preferably, the multilayer phase change recording medium has at least upper and lower recording layers from a laser beam incident side in this order, recording is performed by changing the mark length and the upper and lower recording layers according the multivalue information during recording, and reproducing is simultaneously performed from the upper and lower recording layers during reproduction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
