OCCUPANT PROTECTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protecting device with a bag whose longitudinal portions are inflated at almost the same time.

SOLUTION: The occupant protecting device 10 comprises the bag 12 inflatable on the upper side of a seat pan 1 to thrust the front part of a seat cushion in an upward direction and a gas generator 14 for inflating the bag 12. The bag 12 extends in the cross direction of a seat. The bag 12 has a partition panel 16 inside extending in the longitudinal direction of the bag 12. The partition panel 16 partitions the bag 16 into a first chamber 18 and a second chamber 20 each extending from one end to the other end of the bag 12 in the longitudinal direction. The gas generator 14 is installed in the first chamber 18. The partition panel 16 has a communication hole 22 communicating the first chamber 18 with the second chamber 20.
