PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature control medium capable of being used in a state exposed to the outside air, avoiding limitations on the degree of freedom in handling, and achieving low costs without necessarily requiring a sealed container or the like. SOLUTION: The temperature control medium contains capsules 2 including an emulsifying liquid 1. The emulsifying liquid 1 is constituted of a lipid mixture containing water, fats, oils, and phospholipid. The capsules 2 are constituted of a gelatinized coating having calcium alginate as a principal component. The diameter of the capsules 2 preferably lies between 0.1μm and 6 mm.
