PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply repair a female thread having a damaged screw thread near the entrance or a surface-treated female thread. SOLUTION: The tap is constituted so that a thread part 2 screwable with the female thread, and a head part 3 using the same tool as the tool used for the head part of the male thread fastened to the female thread are continuously arranged. The tap has a cutting blade 2a on the outer peripheral surface of the thread part 2, and at least one groove 4 discharging chips is formed. When a hexagon head bolt can not be screwed into the female thread, therefore, the cutting blade 2a scrapes away the defective part of the female thread to repair the female thread by inserting the tap 1 with flat cutting edge into the female thread and screwing the tap 1 using a tool responding to the hexagon head bolt, for example, a spanner or a closed wrench.
