摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time needed for starting a fuel cell by reducing the conductivity of a coolant circulated in the fuel cell in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell system has an area A comprising a flow passage L3, a flow passage L1 and a conductivity sensor 2, an area B where a flow passage L2 is provided with a circulating pump 7 and a conductivity sensor 8, and an area C where bypass flow passages L4, L5 are provided with a pump 11 for a bypass and an ion filter 10. When the conductivity of pure water detected by the conductivity sensor 2 is larger than a starting reference value before the fuel cell 1 starts power generation, the pure water is circulated between the area A and the area C by driving the pump 11 for the bypass to reduce the conductivity of the pure water in the fuel cell 1 with the ion filter 10. When the conductivity of the pure water is lower than the starting reference value, the fuel cell 1 starts power generation and the pure water is circulated at least between the area B and the area C by driving the pump 7 to reduce the conductivity of the pure water with the ion filter 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
