PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant ferritic steel which improves not only room temperature strength but also creep strength. SOLUTION: This ferritic steel makes a C content positively reduced and an MX type nitride precipitated in order to further decrease existing M<SB>23</SB>C<SB>6</SB>, and makes W positively added and Mo not added to make Fe<SB>2</SB>W finely precipitated. Specifically, the ferritic steel comprises 0.03% or less C, 0.01-0.50% Si, 0.01-0.50% Mn, 0.02% or less P, 0.01% or less S, 0.010% or less O, 2.0% or less Ni, 7.0-15.0% Cr, 4.0-6.0% W, 0.01-6.0% Co, 0.01-0.50% V, 0.50% or less Nb, 0.01-0.20% Ta, 0.001-0.02% B, 0.01-0.10% N, and further 0.01-3.0% Re as needed.
