It is intended to provide a blood cholesterol level-lowering agent characterized by containing, as the active ingredient, at least one member selected from the group consisting of Hypsizygus marmoreus, Lyophyllum shimeji and processed products thereof. Because of originating in a natural substance, the above-described blood cholesterol level-lowering agent has an excellent effect of ameliorating hyperlipemia without any side effect. Thus, this blood cholesterol level-lowering agent is useful as a drug for treating or preventing hyperlipemia, arteriosclerosis and obesity and a food, a drink or a feed for treating or preventing the diseases as cited above.
