PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain electric power consumption of a door motor when stopping in an unmanned state by accurately detecting the existence of a passenger. SOLUTION: An imaging device 19 is arranged in a riding car 11, and its picture signal S1 is imparted to a main control device 21 via a picture control part 34. The main control device 21 controls door closure by reducing closing torque of the door motor 31 more than ordinary time via a torque control part 33 after confirming the fact of an unmanned state, by detecting the existence of the passenger in the riding car 11 on the basis of the picture signal S1, when a stopping state continues for a predetermined time or more, after opening and closing a door 12, by detecting that the riding car 11 enters a door zone of the stopping floor on the basis of a door zone signal S2.
