PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily and surely perform visual retrieval without deteriorating retrieving efficiency even at the time of retrieving a specific image from a large amount of images whose formats are identical or almost identical.

SOLUTION: This image display device includes a storage part 10 for storing a plurality of images 1, 2 and so on, a display part 20 for displaying at least one image of the plurality of images 1, 2 and so on, a consideration region designating part 30 for designating a partial region in the image as a region under consideration, an image segmenting part 40 for segmenting the region under consideration from each image as a region image under consideration and a display control part 50 for making the display part 20 display each region image under consideration. This display control part 50 includes an overlapped image forming part 51 for forming an overlapped image by overlapping a plurality of region images under consideration and a visual effect control part 53 for making the display part 20 display the respective region images under consideration configuring the overlapped image with predetermined permeability.
