<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel capable of adjusting the braking force of a magnetic braking device minutely. <P>SOLUTION: This fishing reel is provided by supporting a conductive material 32 at the one side of a spool 16 supported at a reel body 12 as capable of rotating, and equipped with a magnetic braking device 30 imparting the braking force to the spool 16 by using a dielectric action produced by the rotation of the conductive material 32 within a magnetic field of ring magnets 54, 56 installed at the reel body 12 and forming the conductive material 32 with a magnesium alloy. In the fishing reel, since the specific resistance of the conductive material is larger than those of conventional aluminum alloys, while having a light weight, generated eddy current is small and maximum braking force is small even if the strength of magnetic force is the same, and it is possible to adjust the braking force minutely in accordance with the degree of throwing a light weight fishing tackle or degree of skill. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
