<p>A process for producing a mono- or dibenzoate of a glycol compound by the transesterification between a benzoic ester and a glycol in the presence of monobutyltin oxide, dibutyltin oxide, zinc oxide and zinc acetate; and a novel halogenated benzoic ester. The obtained compound is useful as the starting material of industrial chemicals and polymers. This process can provide an objective compound readily in a high yield.</p> |
