<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation supporting apparatus using image data for CTP for on-demand printing, and easily editing the image data. <P>SOLUTION: Layout information such as arrangement of paste or pasting position of each page is calculated from a full size by a BEP apparatus and electrically cut out (106), referring to Orient tag of image file data of a TIFF format generated by RIP processing (106), the horizontal direction of each page is matched (108-110). If gathering or face down is instructed, each of the electrically cut pages is rearranged in conformity with the instruction (114-118). Also, if there is a new JDF, editing is performed in conformity with an instruction of this JDF (120, 122), and the TIFF format is modified according to the contents of the JDF (124).
