PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which shortens printing time. SOLUTION: A temperature sensor 45 is provided near ultraviolet lamps 41 and 42 of seal printing equipment 10, and temperature data from a temperature sensor 45 are input into a pipe wall temperature determination circuit 53, when a user charges a coin. A measured environmental temperature is compared with a reference environmental temperature in accordance with the temperature data. Since the pipe wall temperature is lower than a minimum temperature when the measured environmental temperature is lower than the reference environmental temperature, a system controller 50 computes the pre-lighting-up time of the ultraviolet lamps 41 and 42, reads out a mode of pre-print operation time from an EEPROM 60, and computes a pre-lighting-up start time. At the pre-lighting-up start time, the ultraviolet lamps 41 and 42 are lit after a shutter 44 is closed, and a pipe wall is warmed. After a lapse of the pre-light-up-time, the ultraviolet lamps 41 and 42 are put out. When the user pushes a print button 15, print processing is started. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
