A support device for a door, comprising: a main body 5 with adjustable clamping means 1; means for locating said body in an upright position 2, and a quick release device operated via a foot pedal 3. The locating means 2 is movable from a first storage position, to a second stabilising position, relative to the main body 5. The locating means may comprise two stabilising wings 2 that can be locked in either position. A number of rubber pads 4,6 can be used in conjunction with the device, to protect work surfaces and prevent slippage.
