<p>The unit has a set of columns (100, 200), where each column contains turnstiles (210) that are placed vertically over one another. Each turnstile divides the column into compartments (222, 224, 226). Goods are transported from one compartment to another by horizontally rotating the turnstile through an angle corresponding to the size of the compartment, when the lower compartment in the direction of rotation is found to be empty. The turnstile is made of wire grid, wire mesh or a perforated metal sheet.</p> |
