The method comprises: randomly selecting a backoff period XB according to a backoff exponent BE, wherein XB=X×aUnitBackoffPeriod, and X is an integer randomly selected from 0 to (2BE−1); when X is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, determining an intermediate backoff duration, wherein the intermediate backoff duration is less than the backoff period; performing backoff till the intermediate backoff duration ends and then performing CCA; performing data transmission if the channel is idle, and if the channel is not idle, continuing backoff till the backoff period ends and then performing CCA, and executing a channel access operation according to a CCA result obtained when the backoff period ends; or when X is less than the predetermined value, performing backoff till the backoff period ends and then performing CCA, and executing a channel access operation according to a CCA result obtained when the backoff period ends. Through the channel access method and node according to the embodiments of the present invention, when the backoff period is long, backoff is performed till the intermediate backoff duration ends and then CCA is performed, and data transmission is performed when the channel is idle, thereby reducing the data transmission delay.
