Control valve for a fuel injector

The control valve, especially for injection valves for internal combustion engines, has a valve casing (1), a valve needle (3) movable in an axial direction and installed in a cylindrical guide (11), and a piston (4) installed in the movable valve needle. An insert (2) is accommodated in the valve casing and upon it are mounted a pin (5) and the piston. In a closed state of the valve needle the axial pressure forces acting through the fluid are counterbalanced. The valve needle protrudes beyond the insert.
