The night vision system is configured so that it can be adjusted by an operating element that can be used to switch at least one operating mode of a headlamp of the motor vehicle and at least one operating mode of the night vision system. The at least one operating mode of the headlamp is dipped and/or main beam and the at least one night vision system mode is the off state. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an operating element for a night vision system (b) and a method of operating a camera-supported night vision system in a motor vehicle. |
