PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defoaming device in cleaning equipment for a metal strip capable of efficiently destroying foam in a tank storing an alkali cleaning liquid with misty water and further capable of preventing the flowing of misty water into the tank, and to provide cleaning equipment and defoaming device in cleaning equipment for a metal strip. SOLUTION: In the defoaming device, a tank storing an alkali cleaning liquid is provided with overflow piping, and, in the middle of a pendant pipe connected with a bent pipe of the overflow piping, a spray nozzle of jetting misty water into the pipe is fitted.
