A medicine, functional food, or health food which are effective in the prevention and/or treatment of bone diseases, and contain as an active ingredient a safe flavonoid compound derived from a natural material. Also provided is a medicinal composition for the prevention and/or treatment of bone diseases which contains at least one compound represented by the following formula (I) or a physiologically acceptable salt, hydrate, or glycoside thereof. Formula (I) (In the formula, R<1> to R<6> each represents hydrogen or a group selected from the group consisting of hydroxy and methoxy, provided that R<1> or R<3> may be bonded to a sugar or a derivative thereof, that when R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, and R<5> are hydroxy, then any of these may be bonded to a sugar to form a glycoside, and that not all of R<1> to R<6> are hydrogen.)
