<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood structure for a vehicle capable of improving energy absorbing efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A step section 16 is formed in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body in a hood outer panel 12 of a hood 10. A reinforcing member 22 is joined to the gap between a recessed side plane part 12B and a hood inner panel 14 which is a part on the outside in the vehicle width direction partitioned by the step section 16 in the hood outer panel 12. The upper part of a vertical wall section 22A of the reinforcing member 22 is tilted on the outside in the vehicle width direction with respect to the vertical direction of the vehicle body.
