PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain high discrimination accuracy without changing a system of an apparatus for discriminating the load of a vehicle seat. SOLUTION: An information processing means 18 has a function for performing in sequence, as specified conditions confirmation steps: a parking confirmation step for confirming and judging the parked state of a vehicle; a vacant seat confirmation step for confirming and judging the vacant state of the seat, from load information obtained under the application of a normal operational voltage to a load detection means 14; a vibration level confirmation step for confirming and judging the vibration levels of the vehicle and the seat, from the load information obtained under the application of the normal operational voltage to the load detection means; and a center of gravity position confirmation step for confirming and judging the center of gravity position of the seat, from the load information obtained under the application of the normal operational voltage to the load detection means.
