<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably remove sulfurous acid gas over a long period of time without poisoning active carbon catalyst for flue-gas desulfurization with hydrogen sulfide gas in removing and recovering the sulfurous acid gas in exhaust gas with the possibility that the hydrogen sulfide gas is mixed like the sulfur recovery apparatus off-gas of petroleum refining and natural gas purification or the like as diluted sulfuric acid. <P>SOLUTION: In a waste gas desulfurization method of recovering the sulfurous acid gas in the exhaust gas as sulfuric acid by bringing the waste gas containing the sulfurous acid gas and 15 capacity % or less of oxygen into contact with the active carbon catalyst for the flue-gas desulfurization containing active carbon and water-repellent resin, in order to prevent the decline of the desulfurization performance of the active carbon catalyst for the flue-gas desulfurization due to the hydrogen sulfide gas with the possibility of being mixed in the waste gas, the active carbon catalyst for the flue-gas desulfurization is turned to a moist condition before bringing the waste gas into contact with the active carbon catalyst for the flue-gas desulfurization. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
