PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear cover for a time piece using effectively a space surrounded a step difference part, and the time piece provided with the rear cover for the time piece. SOLUTION: This rear cover 5 for the time piece is provided with a substantially transparent outer plate 6 arranged in a back side of the time piece, an outer plate holding frame 8 for holding the outer plate 6, and having the step difference part 82 abutting to an edge part 611 of an inner face 61 of the outer plate 6, in its inner circumferential part 81, and an inner plate 7 provided in substantially parallel to the outer plate 6 in an inside of a space 52 surrounded by the step difference part 82 in an inner face 61 side of the outer plate 6.
