PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a distributed application system allowing usage of a service component without consciousness of located position information or the like of the service component on a network by formulating an original service definition. SOLUTION: The distributed application system is provided with a plurality of servers wherein middleware and an OS sequentially operate in a subordinate layer of the service component, and a client wherein middleware and an OS sequentially operate in a subordinate layer of a client program. The middleware operating in the client and the server constructs a logical network on the basis of the service definition, the middleware operating in the client generates a service proxy program for searching the logical network and using a found service component on the basis of service contents specified by the client program, and service is requested to the service component found via the service proxy program.
