PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute output control and idle control of a generator by high resolution by controlling air flowing through a bypass passage bypassing a throttle valve, in an engine drive vehicle enabling to drive a load by operating a generator during a stop of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The vehicle is provided with a first bypass passage 101 and a second bypass passage 102, bypassing a throttle valve 12 of an engine 1; and first and second valves 103 and 104 to control a flow of air flowing through the bypass passages. The vehicle is constituted such that during running of a vehicle, idling of an engine is controlled by controlling the opening of the second valve 104 with the first valve completely closed, and when a generator 17 is operated with the vehicle stopped, by controlling the opening of the second valve 104 with the first valve 103 brought into a full opening state, the rotation speed of the engine 1 is controlled so as to obtain a given output from the generator 17.
