PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving system and a receiving method which can display effectively to a televiewer using auxiliary information and broadcast information. SOLUTION: The broadcast information received from a broadcasting network is once recorded on a storage means of a broadcast receiving system, and a record medium which stores auxiliary information which complements the broadcast information is set. The broadcast information and the auxiliary information are interlocked and reproduced with a predetermined timing. A content of a program is produced by a content provider 900, and a part of the contents is passed to a broadcasting station 901 as a broadcast information 201. The broadcasting station 901 distributes this broadcast information 201 through infrastructures, such as satellites and/or terrestrial broadcasting, or alternatively CATVs. In the other side, a content provider distributes another information relevant to this broadcast information 201, using alternatively the Internet or a package media as an auxiliary information 301. The televiewer (home 902) receives the broadcast information 201 and the auxiliary information 301 by this broadcast receiving system 100, and displays on a monitor. In this broadcasting system, the auxiliary information performs a complement of the broadcast information. Indices 203, 305 are added to both the broadcast information and the auxiliary information, respectively.
