PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a light-emitting element by a simple production method, efficiently extract outward light emitted from a light-emitting layer, and improve light extraction efficiency. SOLUTION: The element has a first electrode 200, a second electrode 300, and a light-emitting layer 102 disposed therebetween, and extracts a part of light emitted from the layer 102 as radiation light. In the element, the first electrode 200, a nano structure layer 400 extracting the radiation light, and a gap 81 with a refraction index lower than the average refraction index of the layers 102, 400 are disposed sequentially in the extraction direction of the radiation light.
