PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a steel strip for metallic belts by which surface flaws are reduced. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the steel strip for the metallic belts by using an Fe-base alloy steel strip after hot rolling as a base stock and performing cold rolling using the base stock, includes a step where at least one or more times of pickling treatment are performed during a cold rolling process, and in the method, rolls having the surface roughness (Ra) of≤0.2μm are used for at least a cold rolling for finishing, draft is taken as 3-30% and the thickness of the Fe-base alloy steel strip is made into≤0.7 mm.
