PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar coating apparatus capable of preventing the occurrence of coating surface defect by suppressing the vibration of a coating bar and a bar coating method using the bar coating apparatus. SOLUTION: A driving shaft 30 of the coating bar 16 is supported freely rotatably by 2 bearings arranged in parallel. As a result, the backlash of the driving shaft 30 is decreased and the vibration of the coating bar 16 (that is the vibration of the bar ) in the rotation is reduced. A flexible coupling 32 is interposed between the driving shaft 30 and the coating bar 16 additionally. As a result, the the slight axial misalignment between the driving shaft 30 and the coating bar 16 is absorbed to reduce the bar vibration. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
