PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy member erecting device capable of reducing construction cost and preventing occurrence of excessive stress in a platelike part of a heavy member when erecting it. SOLUTION: This erecting device 1 having the platelike part 21 provided by directing its plane downward to erect the heavy member 2 is composed of a pedestal 11 in which an end part of the platelike part 21 is inserted and a rotary shaft 12 rotating and supporting the pedestal 11. A position of a bottom face 111 of the pedestal 11 for bringing an end face of the platelike part 21 into contact protrudes more than a part just above the center of the rotary shaft 12.
