摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc sulfide nanostructure having high chemical stability and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: A zinc sulfide nanostructure coated with boron nitride is formed by heating zinc sulfide twin crystal nanowhiskers in the presence of a vapor of a compound comprising boron, nitrogen, and oxygen in an atmosphere of a mixed gas of a nitrogen gas and an ammonia gas. According to this method, the zinc sulfide twin crystal nanowhiskers recrystallize into zinc sulfide twin crystal nanowhiskers having spiniform branches, and a boron nitride film grows on their surfaces. The boron nitride film is a crystalline boron nitride film grown in a crystal orientation in which a specified crystal face of the crystalline boron nitride is parallel with the surfaces of the zinc sulfide twin crystal nanowhiskers having the spiniform branches.
