<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stick-shaped ignition coil in which the diameter of a coil, especially the thickness of its coil storing portion is thin and it is unnecessary to make the upper end of a peripheral side spool thick. <P>SOLUTION: The stick-shaped ignition coil is provided with: a primary coil 17 in which a primary winding 19 is wound around a peripheral plane of a primary spool 18; a secondary coil 13 in which a secondary winding 15 is wound around a peripheral plane of a secondary spool 14; a plurality of annular protrusions 25, 30 which are integrally formed on the peripheral plane of the upper end a plurality of of the primary spool at a peripheral side; a thin film sheet 21 covering the primary winding and the plural annular protrusions which are located at the peripheral side; and a case 46 which is press-inserted to the peripheral planes of the plural annular protrusions through the thin film sheet 21.
