PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent disk distortion and disk slip (disk shifting) at the time of fixing to a spindle motor hub. SOLUTION: A taper 12 having a little smaller diameter at the bottom is attached to a center section 11a of the spindle motor hub 11. A disk 21 is put on disk receiving section 11b of the hub 11, inserted in the taper section 12 of the hub 11 by expanding a C ring 13 which is rectangle in cross-section and has the inner diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the center section 11a of the hub 11. The C ring 13 is fixed to the hub 11 so that the disk may not slip, and the disk 21 is lightly pressed with the flat undersurface of the C ring so that disk distortion may not be produced. The C ring 13 and the disk 21 are adhered by one point or several points in this status. Force of the C ring 13 which works vertically on the taper 12 is converted into the force to the rotary shaft direction of the spindle and the force to the radial direction of the disk, and the C ring 13 is prevented to be dropped out by the combined force of the force to this rotary shaft direction and the static friction force of the C ring 13.
