PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain type recording/retrieving device for generally extracting records similar to the input key information of a user, and for extracting unexpected records. SOLUTION: This chain type recording/retrieving device is provided with a means 101 which inputs key information, parameters and new recording, and outputs extracted records, a means 104 which calculates similarity between the key information and the records and similarity between the records, a means 105 which calculates scores showing the level of whether or not the records should be extracted based on the similarity, a database 103 which stores the records and the scores and a means 102 which controls the whole part. In the score calculating means, the scores of the records similar to the key information is set so as to be generally large, and the scores of the records whose scores exceed the target mean value are set so as to be close to the mean value of the scores of the neighboring similar records.
