PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional fiber production method incapable of stretching and after-processing a fiber and to provide a method for producing an unstretched yarn of cellulose fatty acid ester in which the undstretched yarn having excellent dynamic properties, particularly high elongation is produceable in stable yarn-making property and productivity. SOLUTION: The method for producing an unstretched yarn of cellulose fatty acid ester comprises melt-spinning a composition containing at least 70-95 wt.% cellulose fatty acid ester in which at least a part of acyl group is 3-18 carbon number and 5-30 wt.% polyhydric alcohol-based plasticizer. In the melt-spinning of the composition, the atmosphere after spinning is heated to a spinneret surface temperature or above and the atmospheric temperature T<SB>15</SB>at a position which is 15 cm distant from under the spinneret is represented by the formula 260°C<T<SB>15</SB>≤340°C and the spinning speed V<SB>s</SB>is represented by the formula 300 m/min≤V<SB>s</SB><1,000 m/min.
