摘要 <p>A method for adjusting the dispersion (D) of a liquid crystalline (LC) medium involves selecting the individual components so that the medium shows a birefringence (delta n; 589 nm, 20 [deg] C) of 0.155-0.175 and a dispersion D 0> of 1.13-1.15. Independent claims are also included for: (1) an LC medium containing: (a) a component A comprising compounds with a high delta n in the range 0.10-0.50 and a low dielectric anisotropy (delta e) in the range from 0 to +10; (b) a component (B) comprising compounds with medium delta n (0.03-0.20) and high delta e (+10 to +60); and (c) a component C comprising compounds with a low delta n (0.02-0.18) and a low delta e (-6 to +10); (2) electro-optical displays containing such LC media.</p>
