<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier and a developer which hardly cause carrier deposition and achieve high image density, favorable graininess (roughness), little contamination on the base and high durability, and to provide a method for manufacturing the carrier and a development method using the carrier and the developer. <P>SOLUTION: The carrier for an electrophotographic developer comprises magnetic core particles and a resin layer coating the particle surface, and has 22 to 32 μm weight average particle diameter Dw and the ratio Dw/Dp of the weight average particle diameter Dw to the number average particle diameter Dp in a range of 1<Dw/Dp<1.20. The carrier has 0 to 7 wt.% content of particles having less than 20 μm particle diameter, 90 to 100 wt.% content of particles having less than 36 μm particle diameter, and 98 to 100 wt.% content of particles having less than 44 μm particle diameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
