PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tire carcass, achieving low fuel cost and having improved driveability. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tire carcass contains a silica masterbatch produced by the micro-dispersion of a styrene-butadiene rubber latex and silica in water, a diene rubber and carbon black. The amount of the carbon black is 0-40 pts. wt. based on 100 pts. wt. of total rubber component, and the sum of the carbon black and the silica in the silica masterbatch is 30-60 pts. wt. based on 100 pts. wt. of total rubber component.
