A portable toast rack that keeps toast warm by providing a constant low heat, to prevent the toast from cooling. The toast rack 1 may sit on a meshed plate 7 through which heat may be transmitted from the thermostatically controlled element 3 in the base of the rack. Alternatively the thermostatically controlled element may be a ribbon (3, Drawing 2) located in the toast supporting members of the toast rack (1, Drawing 2). The toast rack may have an on and off switch 5 and an indicator lamp 6 to indicate when the correct working temperature is reached.
