The rope clamp is made from folded and cut sheet metal and eliminates the need for making a knot in a rope end. the sheet metal clamp is folded (9) so that the holes in each half are not aligned but overlap. The rope placed through these holes is trapped by jamming. A narrow tag at the clamp end is bent over the folded arms of the clamp. The ends of the clamp can be rounded or square. The clamp arms are pulled apart for releasing the rope which readily slides out of the holes.
