AQUEOUS METAL CLEANER

A metal cleaning composition useful in aqueous solution comprises an alkalinity providing agent and a combination of surfactants comprising an ethoxylated thiol surfactant and a nitrogen-containing surfactant which reduces the odor of the thiol-containing surfactant. The aqueous cleaning solutions of this invention are particularly useful in metal parts washers typically placed in garages, service stations and the like in which the cleaning solution can be filtered and reused in th e parts washer.
