A lamp bulb, comprising a light transmission bulb, a base part having a pair of inner terminals and a pair of outer terminals, and a linear light emitting body stretched between the inner terminals. The lamp bulb is characterized in that the linear light emitting body comprises a plurality of filaments connected parallel with each other, and at least one filament and the other filaments are shielded from each other through a light transmitting shield plate and disposed oppositely to each other. Thus, a trouble in illumination due to the breakage of the filaments can be suppressed.
