PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an operator's finger from touching a destaticizing needle at the time of inspection or at the time of jamming disposal by making a destaticizing part movable in a direction where it comes close to an image carrier and a direction where it is separated from the image carrier with simple constitution which does not require power supply. SOLUTION: The transfer material destaticizing mechanism is mainly equipped with a function part 101, a cover member 102 and the destaticizing part 103. The function part 101 is attached to a frame 110 so as to be freely opened/closed to take a proximate position being a state where it comes close to a photoreceptor drum 30 and a separating position being a state where it goes away from the drum 30. The cover member 102 is attached to the frame 110 so as to be freely opened/closed to cover over the function part 101 from the outside. The destaticizing part 103 is attached to the function part 101, and moves to freely advance/retreat in the direction where it comes close to the drum 30 and the direction where it is separated from the drum 30 in the function part 101 interlocked with the opening/closing of the cover member 102.
