The form-and-fill machine for tubular plastic bags (2) has transverse welding heads (3, 4). Sloping supports (12) attached to these can be fitted around the base of the bag to protect it against the kinetic energy of the product as it fills it. These can be adjusted using pneumatic cylinders (13, 18).
