<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal such as a cellular phone capable of allowing its owner to recognize falling situation easily when the mobile terminal falls under a situation that the owner is unaware, by distinguishing it from a shock such as contact. <P>SOLUTION: A shock pattern table 34 and a sound information 33 are stored in a memory 307. A shock is converted into a shock pattern by a shock sensor 31 and a controller 303. The detected shock pattern is compared with a shock pattern stored in the memory 307.
