<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium carrying device, in which a recording medium can be stably carried without disturbing visible images on a recording medium unfixed carried on it. <P>SOLUTION: This recording medium carrying device is provided with a recording medium carrying member to carry a recording medium with static charges of opposite polarity from charges of visible images from a transfer means to a fixing means. The recording medium carrying member is provided with a voltage application device to add charges of the opposite polarity to charges on the recording medium. The voltage application device is composed in such a way that, for surface potential V1 of the recording medium carrying member at a contact part of the recording medium on the most upstream side of a recording medium carrying direction with the recording medium carrying member, surface potential V3 of the recording medium carrying member at a separating part of the recording medium on the most downstream side of the recording medium carrying direction from the recording medium carrying member, and surface potential V2 of the recording medium carrying member in a range where the recording medium is carried other than the contact part and the separating part, the surface potential V1 and V2 is set at the same polarity, with the absolute value of V1 set to be smaller than the absolute value of V2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
