NONAQUEOUS RECTANGULAR SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous rectangular secondary battery capable of absorbing torsion generated between electrodes of a power generation element to restrain increase of battery thickness, and of reducing a space between the electrodes to exert an excellent battery characteristic. SOLUTION: This nonaqueous secondary battery 1b is composed by storing, in a rectangular flat armoring can 4B, the power generation element 2 formed by spirally rolling a positive electrode and a negative electrode by interlaying a separator in a stacked form. The nonaqueous rectangular secondary battery 1b is so structured that the armoring can 4B is formed of an aluminum Al alloy; and projection parts 6a pressing the power generation element 2 stored in the armoring can 4B are formed integrally with the insides of a set of facing long-side surfaces of the armoring can 4B.
